FONDA - Gloversville's Brittany Craven outsprinted Wallkill's Abigail Williams to the chute to win the girls Division II varsity race Saturday at the annual Fonda-Fultonville Cross Country Invitational at Fonda-Fultonville High School.
Craven covered the 3-mile course in 20:52.10, while Williams finished in 20:52.36.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's Jared Short won the Division II boys varsity race with a time of 16:43.72, while Taconic Hills' Trey Hotaling won the Division I varsity boys event in 17:08.02 and Sarah Carter of Cohoes won the Division I girls varsity race in 22:28.18.

Dylan DeSorbo was the top finisher for the host Braves with his second place run in 17:55.11 in the Division I race. He was joined by Dan Westman who finished sixth (18:27.13), Damion Freeman (seventh/18:32.33); Jason Klotz (22nd/22:21.37) and Jared Stearns (24th/23:49.74).
Josh Gallup paced the Mayfield Panthers with his fifth-place finish in the Division I race with a time of 18:17.13. He was joined in the finish by Connor Akowicz (14th/19:46.13), Devonte Marshall (23rd/22:55.47), Ryan MacFarland (25th/23:50.74), Brent Gray (26th/24:35.18), Nathan VanHorn (28th/28:07.04) and Jackson Dunn (29th/30:01.36).
Emily Cromie led the Mayfield girls with her fifth place run in 25:19.49, while Molly Lambo finished sixth in 25:27.66), Kelsey Wasson placed eighth in 27:26.02, while Emily Barker was 10th in 29:55.95 and Juleh Nikollaj placed 11th in 29:57.99.
Joining Craven with strong runs for Gloversville were Sarah Ambrosino (ninth/24:57.59), Emily Ambrosino (11th/25:56.40), Katie Senzio (13th/26:18.39) and Morgan Rienhardt (15th/26:39.98).
In the Division II boys race, Gloversville's Jack Hayes placed seventh with a time of 17:59.95, while Phil Meher placed 14th in 18:55.45. Zach Funk placed 16th for the Huskies in 19:05.13, while Tyler Unislawski placed 19th in 20:30.72, Jacob Perez 20th in 20:52.46 and Chris Hernandez placed 24th in 21:44.95.
