Edgar J. Beaudin Sr., age 90, of Little Amsterdam Road, Wells, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014, at the Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam. He was born in Bangor, NY on March 3, 1924, the son of the late Joseph and Olive Ayers Beaudin. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran proudly serving his country during World War II.
He was married to Ruth Mary Babcock on April 2, 1949.
Edgar was the Wells Town Clerk for many years and highway superintendent. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Hamilton County, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of St. Ann's Church, the American Legion and VFW and a former member of the Wells Fire Company and Ambulance Corps as well as the snowmobile club and the Gloversville Moose.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ruth Babcock Beaudin of Wells; his children, Patricia (Glen) Unterborn of Hilton, NY, Audrey Hanna (late William) of Amsterdam, Edgar Jr. (Deborah) Beaudin of Wells, Gerald (Deana) Beaudin of Mt. View, Arkansas and Barbara Beaudin of NYC; one sister, Charlotte Rogers of Poland, NY; two brothers, Lawrence Beaudin of Herkimer and Lester Beaudin of Poland, NY. Ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wells. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wells Ambulance Corps, Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam or St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wells.
