Mrs. Edna C. Smith, 80, of Gloversville, passed away Saturday at Nathan Littauer Hospital following a long illness. She was born in Broadalbin on May 31, 1934, daughter of the late John and Lillian Dingman. She was educated in Broadalbin schools and employed most of her life as a nursing aide at various area nursing homes including the former Dexter Nursing Home on Bleecker Street and Turpin Nursing Home on Grand Street for many years. Most recently, she had been a resident of Pineview Commons in Johnstown. Earlier in life, Edna was an active member of the former Forresters Lodge.
She was devoted wife, mother and homemaker and will be sadly missed.
Edna is survived by her son, John W. Smith (Marion) of Gloversville; and three grandchildren, Kyle Jordan Smith, Colin Andrew Smith and Nicole Ann Smith. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter C. Smith in 2005; and several brothers and sisters.
