Mr. John M. White, age 60, of Mayfield, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Mountain Valley Hospice House with his loving family at his side.
He was born March 20, 1954, in Gloversville, the son of the late Robert and Florence VanNatter White. A 1972 graduate of Mayfield High School, he later returned to the school to coach girls soccer, JV boys soccer, modified and JV girls basketball, modified girls softball and one year with boys varsity soccer.
John was employed by Brown's Ford of Johnstown for 42 years where he was service manager at the time of his illness.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea L. Bennett White, whom he married on July 26, 1975. Also surviving are two children, Joe King (Pamela) of The Woodlands, Texas and Tracie L. Kruszeski (Brandon) of Colonie; a brother, Charles White (Pam) of Gloversville; two granddaughters, Anna King and Lila King; several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Robert and Richard White.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the Rev. Edward A. Hackett Jr. officiating.
Interment will take place at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to The Anna King Project, 2 Gilmore Grove Place, The Woodlands, TX 77382 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
