Eunice H. Croft, 84, of Mayfield, went to her eternal home on July 25, 2014. She was born March 2, 1930, in Lake Luzerne, NY, the daughter of Warren and Rilla (Ramsey) Howe.
She graduated from Luzerne High School in 1948. She attended Elmira College in a two year program for laboratory technician, after which she worked as a laboratory technician at Arnot Ogden Hospital, Elmira. She went on to work at The Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, CA and at a clinic in Cloverdale, CA. She then worked in the lab at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John D. Croft; brother, Emerson Howe of Michigan; daughter, Leigh (Steve) of Schenectady; son, Thomas (Beth) Croft of Mayfield; granddaughter, Christine Croft of Mechanicville; grandsons, Chan Sonderfan and Joshua Croft of Mayfield; and nieces and nephews. She also leaves her lifelong friend, Ann Mallin of Mayfield.
Eunice was involved in many volunteer organizations. These included: The Cancer Society, UMCOR, blood drives, the CROP walk, UMW, Hospice, Outreach and the sale of daffodils.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at 4 p.m. at the Northville First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Northville, NY.
