Margaret L. LaVada, age 83, of Gloversville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2014, after passing suddenly at her residence.
She was born on November 6, 1930, in Bleecker, a daughter of the late Glen Grant and Margaret Grant.
She worked for many years as leather worker at Grandoe Gloves until her retirement in 1994. Mrs. LaVada was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Gloversville.

Margaret is survived by three sons, Terry LaVada of Manhattan, David LaVada of Gloversville and Don LaVada (Cheryl Hughes) of Delmar; two daughters, Dianne LaVada and her companion George of Johnstown and Doreen LaVada of Gloversville; six grandchildren, David "DJ" (Angie) LaVada, Courtney (Steven) Diaz, Megan (Matt) Nelligan, Nicholas LaVada, Mia LaVada, Jill Sawyer and Kaitlyn Sawyer; six great-grandchildren, Lexus Diaz, Davida Diaz, Anekin Diaz, Kyeena Diaz, Chloe Nelligan and Sophia Nelligan; three sisters, Patricia Best, Florence (Walt) Romaine and Caroline Snell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, David G. LaVada on March 20, 2005; and her sister, Dawn Rava.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 12 James Street, Gloversville.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, July 29, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, New York.
