Rosemarie Strattard

Mrs. Rosemarie Strattard, 80, of State Highway 30, Amsterdam, New York, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at her residence with her family at her side.

She was born August 2, 1933, in Queens, New York, a daughter of the late William and Josephine Wright Schieler. She was educated in Queens schools and resided there until moving to the Amsterdam area in 2001.

For several years, Mrs. Strattard was employed at the College Point Senior Citizens Center in Queens before retiring in 2001.

Rosemarie was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Hampton Bay, Long Island, New York.

She took pride at being a stay-at-home mom and thoroughly enjoyed raising her family. In addition, she enjoyed gardening.

She was married to Kenneth W. Strattard Sr. on August 21, 1953. He died in January of 1978.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth W. Strattard Jr. of Amsterdam, New York, JoAnn (Edward) Cobb of Stephens City, Virginia, Linda (Mike) Campaniello of Amsterdam, New York and Mark A. Strattard, also of Amsterdam, New York; two granddaughters, Kristin Cobb and Roseann Balogh; and a great-granddaughter, Guinevere; two sisters, Elanore Losgar of Queens, New York and Dolores Schieler of Hampton Bay, New York.

She was predeceased by her brother, William Schieler.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, New York, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The calling period will begin at noon until 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, New York 12078.
