Carmeta ‘Carmie’ Bovee-Prentice

Ms. Carmeta "Carmie" Bovee-Prentice, age 79, of Gloversville, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.

She was born April 12, 1935 in Mayfield, the daughter of the late Harold Bovee and Charlotte Thompson Bovee. A 1952 graduate of Mayfield High School, she also attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College.

Carmie was employed for 21 years by Liberty ARC in Amsterdam, retiring in 2012 as an assistant house manager.

She was married to Raymond A. Prentice, Sr. on April 23, 1955. He died January 1, 1979. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Francis and Robert Bovee.

Carmie is survived by three children: Melody Lynn Prentice of Fonda, Raymond Prentice (Lynn) of Galway and Krystle Prentice of Clifton Park; two grandsons: Greg Richardson and Kyle Prentice; seven nieces and nephews: Steven Bovee, Carol Morris, Jeanette Jimenez, Sherri Coffey, Wayne Bovee, Gary Bovee and Julie Blanchard. Also surviving are her beloved pet Yorkie "Maximus" and several cousins.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14 at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Steven Bovee, nephew of the deceased, officiating.

Interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.
