Former POW to share his story

JOHNSTOWN - All are invited to the Shirley J. Luck Senior Citizens Center, 109 E. Main St., on Wednesday to meet 1st Lt. Earl Morrow, a World War II B-17 (flying fortress) pilot and former prisoner of war. Lunch will be at noon at the meal site with Morrow and his family, and then Morrow will share his story. Afternoon refreshments will be served. Reservations are required, and can be made by calling 762-4643 or stopping by the center. The only cost will be the meal site fee.

The overnight trip for the year will be Oct. 15 to 17, at Villa Roma in the Catskills, Greene County. The group plans to depart the center at 8 a.m. and arrive at the Villa Roma to begin at the Italian festival. Guests will receive: A Bellini cocktail party prior to dinner one night; San Gennaro street feast party; three meals a day; nightly entertainment in a night club, Italian cooking classes, full programs; a wine and cheese party featuring tasting of Italian wines including a wine lecture. The cost is $265 for members and $295 non-members-double occupancy
