A funeral Mass for Lewis James Dellarco Sr. of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Annandale, VA, will be held on July 12, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, South Royal Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314. Lewis lived a full life and passed on at age 92 on February 28, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Rose Hayes. He is survived by his children, Michael and his wife Vicki Vaughan Dellarco of Silver Spring MD, Jean Dellarco Brannman and her husband Brian of Las Vegas, NV, David and his wife Lauris Davies of Seattle, WA and Lewis Jr. and his wife Anne Franetovich Dellarco of Denver, CO. Also, he is survived by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alexandra, Danielle, Peter, Jonas, Henry, Anastasia, and Louise; and by his brother, Henry Dellarco and his wife Mildred of Crossville, TN; and his nephew, Peter Dellarco and wife Linda of Groton, CT.
He was a World War II veteran in the Army Air Corps and a federal government employee serving at the Naval Supply Center, Oakland CA; Cameron Station, Alexandria, VA; and the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. He retired after 34 years of government service to Palm Coast, FL and then to Las Vegas, NV. He was active in the Boy Scouts and the Knights of Columbus. He will be fondly remembered for his easy going manner and sage advice.
