LASSELLSVILLE - The Western Fulton County Seniors meeting was held June 9, with 20 in attendance. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a reciting of "The Lord's Prayer," led by President Angel Hill. Ellie Smith read the secretary's report followed by Elsie Roberts giving the treasurer's report.
A discussion took place concerning the erection of a frame at the club's site on which to accommodate a barn quilt, a news release said. The men will proceed with the logistics of the frame and the women will do the actual painting, the release said. Other future events and activities in which the club could participate were made public to the members. The club's contract for propane was brought up and the advantage of locking in a price per gallon versus engaging in a budget plan weighed.
The monthly raffle and 50-50 drawing were managed by Tom Hogan with Barbara Carpenter and Pete Stearn winning respectively. Stearn donated his winnings back to the club.
Prior to adjournment, a recommendation was made that club dues be raised from $5 to $10 with all members in favor.
