Richard F. Pedro, 69, a longtime St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Mt. Valley Hospice House, Gloversville, NY, with his loving family by his side.
He was born August 2, 1944, in Amsterdam, NY, the son of Martha (Cherry) Pedro and the late Alexandro Pedro, and was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, class of 1962.
His marriage to Carol Richard took place on July 13, 1966, at St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville.
Mr. Pedro enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. He was an active member of the American Legion, Morris J. Edwards Post 168.
Rich spent most of his career in manufacturing at the former Mohawk Data Science in East Herkimer and retired from Fermer Precision.
Rich was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan, loved a day out at the Saratoga race track and spending time with friends at Ripepi's. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; his mother, Martha Pedro of St. Johnsville; two sons, Jonathan Pedro and wife Addie of Milford, CT, and Christian Pedro and wife Melissa of St. Johnsville; a daughter, Alexis (Lexi) Pedro White of Queensbury, NY; a sister, Linda Maher of St. Johnsville; five grandchildren, Isabella, Jack, Cade, and Marguerite Pedro and Connor White; a brother-in-law, Jamie Richard and family; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, John E. (Gene) Maher.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 1 p.m. from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY, 518-568-7040, with the Rev. R.W. Williams of Mt. Valley Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in St. Johnsville Cemetery with full military honors. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, June 21, 2014, from 10 a.m. until the time of the services.
