Broadalbin seniors report on meeting

The Broadalbin Senior Citizens Club met on Wednesday for an Office For the Aging luncheon and a meeting. Linda Gray read a prayer and led the group in the reciting of the Lord's Prayer. The Pledge to the American Flag was also recited.

This meeting was presided over by President Toni Hallenbeck.

A roll call was read by Vice President June Zea. Forty people were present and one speaker.

Secretary Nancy Weiss and Treasurer Phil Guadagno read their reports and these minutes were accepted.

Birthdays for the month were read by Eleanor Merritt.

The song Happy Birthday was sung by the attendees.

The groups annual picnic chairman Dennis Jacobs noted all who have signed up for reasons of what food will be brought. Sign up now for the July 16 picnic.

The program chairman noted the Thank You notes that were sent out for those involved in the installation banquet.

The raffle was won by Betty Guadagno.

Tickets are still for sale for the annual OFA Picnic which is scheduled for Aug. 7 at the Concordia Club in Gloversville. The ticket price is $8 until July 15. After this they will be available for purchase at the OFA until July 31. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Toni Hallenbeck noted about a trip to the Boston Quincy Market was all set to go for June 10.

The "Mountain Moonshine Mystery" will be held on June 26 at the Perthshire. A buffet and show will be provided. Transportation must be provided by attendees.

Trip and Proctor's show suggestion slips were handed out.

Clean-up was conducted by Carol Cramer and Jerry Collins.

Special Speaker Elizabeth Argotsinger provided a presentation on the Fulton-Montgomery Quilt Barn or House Trail. These quilt squares can be bought or they can be painted by those interested.

The next gathering will be June 18 at 11:30 a.m. with a luncheon at noon. Reservations are a must for the OFA luncheon. Please bring canned goods the the local food pantry.
