Roy Van Denburgh, 86, went to be with his savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Roswell and Ethel Van Denburgh; his sister, Bobette Van Denburgh; and his beloved wife, Elizabeth Potts Van Denburgh. He is survived by his sons, David Van Denburgh of Yardley, PA, Terry Van Denburgh of New Brighton, MN, and Arthur Van Denburgh and his wife, Kristie, of Carlisle, PA; 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He also had a special relationship with nieces Sandy MacDonald and Nancy Murphy.
Roy was a member of Central Baptist Church of Binghamton, Bible Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC, and Forest Lake Baptist Church of Forest Lake, PA. He served faithfully as a deacon at all three churches. Roy was an outstanding Christian, husband and father. He never hesitated to help those in need.
Roy worked at IBM for 45 years. He was responsible for several patented inventions. He served for 25 years as IBM's representative on the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Committee for bank document standardization, a number of years as chairman.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 9, at Central Baptist Church, 1606 Route 12, Binghamton. Burial will take place later in the day at Birchardville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Roy's memory may be made to Central Baptist Church.
