FONDA - On a bright, sunny Saturday, Fonda Speedway found itself dealing with an unexpected problem.
Too much water.
A packer truck broke down earlier in the day during track preparation, leaving the track a muddy mess.
After several hours the track was finally in racing condition.
Josh Hohenforst (modified), Dave Constantino (sportsman), Nick Stone (pro stock), John Bradt (street stock) and Adam Pierson (POWRi Outlaw Midget Series) picked up the wins Saturday.
Hohenforst earned his first career victory in the modified division, finishing ahead of A.J. Romano, Bodie Bellinger, Stewart Friesen and Brian Gleason.
Constantino, the defending sportsman track champion, picked up his second win of the season and seventh career win in the division Saturday.
Connor Cleveland was second, Rocky Warner was third, Tony Farone was fourth and Brian Pessolano was fifth.
In the pro stock division, Stone earned his fourth win of the season and 32nd career victory.
Chuck Dumblewski was second, Jim Normoyle was third, Walt Brownell was fourth and Rob Yetman was fifth.
In the street stock division, Bradt was first, followed by Dave Horning Sr., Johnny Young, last week's winner Jason Samrov and Jerry Cohn. It was the third win of the season, who had 27 career wins in the street stock class.
Pierson claimed the win in the first visit to the track by the POWRi Outlaw Midget Series. Josh Sunn was second, Scott Holcomb was third, Jamie Spaulding was fourth and Frank Malec was fifth.
