Fonda-Fultonville community members:
The Fonda-Fultonville Central School District Board of Education wishes to express its sincere appreciation for the positive results on our 2014-15 budget vote. Our budget passed with 64 percent of the voters in favor of the proposed budget. With this approved budget, we will not only be able to maintain all of our current programs, but also make some program improvements as well.
Unfortunately, the proposition on the building project was defeated. Although we received 58.5 percent of positive "yes" votes, we still needed 11 more votes to meet our 60 percent supermajority for this to pass. The Board of Education will be reviewing the 165 responses (21 percent) to the exit survey to see how the respondents felt regarding the proposal. (Exit survey results can be viewed on our website and Facebook.) We are very pleased with the results of one queston in particular: "How would you rate the quality of education provided by the Fonda-Fultonville Central School?" Ninety percent of respondents rated our schools with an A or B. The board will be deciding, in the very near future, the next steps needed to take with our building project and will inform the public as soon as possible.
Again, we wish to emphasize how pleased we are in Fonda to have so much support for our school district and the quality program provided for our students.
President, Fonda-Fultonville Central School District school board
