Timothy Lee Sluyter, age 54, of Mayfield, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. He was born June 5, 1959, in Gloversville, the son of Harold and Marjorie Devon Sluyter.
Tim is survived by his father, Harold Slutyer; sisters, Beth (William) Gates of Johnstown, and Cynthia (Thomas) Ruch of Queensbury. He is also survived by nine nephews and nieces; twelve great-nieces and nephews; and his Lexington friends and housemates at his Ferguson Road residence. Tim was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Sluyter.
Growing up, Tim loved to spend as much time as possible at the Gloversville F.W. Woolworth store where his dad was the manager. Tim enjoyed family times, eating out, and watching Sunday afternoon football games with his dad. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gloversville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, with the Rev. Peter Ellis officiating.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Saturday prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
