Broadalbin Seniors report on meeting

BROADALBIN -The Broadalbin Senior Citizens Club had their installation banquet May 21.

Chaplain Mary Peck recited "In Flanders Field" in honor of Memorial Day.

The Pledge of Allegiance and "The Lord's Prayer" were recited by those present. There were 47 in attendance, plus five honored guests: Andrea Fettinger, director of the Fulton County Office for the Aging; John Collyer, Providence town supervisor and his wife; and Eugene Christopher, village mayor and guest.

The re-election and installation of the following took place: Toni Hallenbeck, president; June Zea, vice president; Nancy Weiss, secretary; Phil Guadagno, treasurer; and Mary Peck, chaplain. The installation was carried out by Fettinger.

Special recognition was given to Stella Westerling for having the longest membership of the club, and having been very active up until recently.

Joe McDonald was the master of ceremonies and a DJ who provided music for a trivia game.

Donna Chambers recognized Maggie Boltash for her work in organizing and preparing the buffet and preparing a program. Those who helped Boltash were Dee Cyr, Judy Duemler, Sherry Weiderman, Marsha Prokop, Joan Frament and Sandy Ferguson.

The raffle winners were Belinda Gundenrsen, Mary Lou Wilcox and Eleanor Campbell.

The next meeting will be Wednesday. Due to the cancelation of the program, a new program is unavailable at this time. The group's social time will be at 11:30 a.m. and the OFA luncheon will be at noon. If interested in the OFA luncheon, reservations must be made in advance and cancelled if unable to attend.

All senior citizens are welcome.
