Mrs. Marilyn R. Goodwin, 82, of Bleecker, passed away May 24, 2014.
She was born March 6, 1932, in Glen, New York, daughter of the late George and Mildred Hagadorn Brooks. Marilyn was educated in Bleecker Country School District 3 and employed at the former Daniel Green Slipper Co. in Dolgeville as a padder.
Marilyn enjoyed picture puzzles and was an excellent embroiderer. She was an active member of the Bleecker Community Church in Bleecker and the Nick Stoner Senior Citizens, where she often called bingo as well as played from time to time. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Charles J. Goodwin Sr. (Elsie) of Stratford, Beldora "Dorie" Swartz of Youngsville, N. Carolina and Cecilia LaMont of Franklinton, N. Carolina. Marilyn is also survived by her grandchildren, Charles J. Goodwin Jr., Rose Marie Daley, Joshua Delaney, Corey Delaney, Brandon Swartz, Alexa LaMont, Ian LaMont, Arianne LaMont; and her siblings, Lorraine (Robert) Bleyl, and George S. Brooks, both of Bleecker; several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by a son, William Goodwin; a sister, Gladys Winkler; two brothers, Milton Brooks and Douglas Brooks; and husband, George Goodwin.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Bleecker Community Church in Bleecker, with the Reverend Kathe Reese, pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow at Parkview Crematorium in Schenectady. Urn burial in Bleecker Cemetery, will be at the convenience of her family. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville.
