QUEENSBURY - Host Queensbury won the boys and girls team titles at the Foothills Council Track and Field Championships on Thursday.
The Queensbury boys won with a total of 133.333 points, while Scotia-Glenville was second with 123.5 points. Broadalbin-Perth (122.333 points) was third, South Glens Falls (89 points) was fourth and Gloversville (74.5) was fifth. Johnstown was sixth with 70.333 points.
The Queensbury girls won with a total of 171.5 points, while South Glens Falls was second with 136 points. Broadalbin-Perth (135.5 points) was third, Gloversville (92.5) was fourth and Scotia-Glenville (47) was fifth. Johnstown was eighth with 33.5 points.
"We are very proud of our athletes today and how they competed," Gloversville coach Stephen Wendt said.
In the boys meet, Gloversville's David VanDenabeele won the pentathlon with a total of 2,654 points, while Phil Meher was third with 2,288 points.
Gloversville's Keyshawn Arnold and Quantel McGee placed first and second in the high jump with a height of 5-10, with Arnold winning on total jumps.
Arnold also placed fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 52.9 seconds.
Johnstown's Devlin Bahruth won the 100 meters and 200 meters with times of 11.2 seconds and 22.9 seconds, respectively.
Bahruth also won the 400 meters for Johnstown with a time of 50.6 seconds.
In the 110 hurdles, Broadalbin-Perth's Jake Coveney won with a time of 15.2 seconds, while Johnstown's Alec Hornidge was second with a time of 15.9 seconds.
Coveney and Hornidge also placed first and second, respectively, in the 400 hurdles with time of 57.6 seconds and 1:00.4 Johnstown's Jon Bearden was third and Gloversville's Taylor McCredie was fourth.
Coveney also won the triple jump for the Patriots with a leap of 42-7 and placed second in the long jump (20-7 3/4)/
Hornidge added a fifth-place finish in the high jump for the Sir Bills with a height of 5-4.
Broadalbin-Perth's Greg Bogdan won the 3,200 meters with a time of 10:03.5 and won the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 10:25.8.
In the 800 meters, Bogdan was fourth with a time of 2:09.7, while Johnstown's Jamal Vazquez (2:13.3) was sixth.
Bogdan also placed second in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:44.6.
Broadalbin-Perth's Mike Visco won the long jump with a leap of 21-0 and placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 41-11 1/2.
Pierre LaPort was third in the shot put and fourth in the discus for B-P with throws of 44-4 and 131-5, respectively.
Broadalbin-Perth's Henry Caughey (53.1 seconds) was sixth in the 400 meters, while Gloversville's Adam Sleezer was fourth in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 10:50.9
Gloversville's Caleb Dutcher was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 38-8 3/4, while Gloversville's Anthony Bravo (38-7) was sixth.
Michael Budka placed second in the pole vault for Gloversville with a height of 12-6, while Gloversville's Zach William (11-0) and Cory Miller (10-6) were fifth and sixth, respectively.
Doug Sutter (41-5 3/4) was sixth in the shot put for Broadalbin-Perth, while Jeff Derwin (117-10) was fifth in the discus.
Broadalbin-Perth's Jacob Bunker (1,918 points) was sixth in the pentathlon.
In the 400 relay, Gloversville was fourth and Broadalbin-Perth was sixth.
Gloversville was fourth in the 3,200 relay, Broadalbin-Perth was fifth and Johnstown was sixth.
In the 1,600 relay, Gloversville was third and Johnstown was fifth.
In the girls meet, Gloversville's Chanel Thomas won the long jump (16-11) and triple jump (35-4). Thomas also placed second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.8 and second in the high jump with a height of 4-8.
Broadalbin-Perth's Chelsea LeBlanc won the high jump with a leap of 4-0.
Anna Smith was second in the shot put and discus for the Lady Patriots, with throws of 34-9 and 96-5, respectively.
In the 400 meters, Broadalbin-Perth's Celina Onzo (1:01.8) was second, Gloversville's Carolyn Peck (1:02.0) was third and Broadalbin-Perth's Kaitlin Sala (1;04.5) was sixth.
Johnstown's Reily Kotwasinski (2:28.4) was third in the 800 meters, while Gloversville's Hailey Budaj-Dunlap (2:34.9) was sixth.
Kotwasinski also placed fifth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:17.4, while Broadalbin-Perth's Sarah Naple (5:22.5) was sixth.
Kotwasinski added sixth-place finish in the high jump, tying Gloversville's Madison Fancher with a height of 4-4. Gloversville's Brianna Port was fifth in the high jump with a height of 4-6.
Port also placed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 14-10.
In the pentathlon, Broadalbin-Perth's Kylie Gifford (2,109) was third and B-P's Kelly Makarowsky (2,016) was fourth.
Sierra Fancher placed third in the triple jump for Gloversville with a leap of 30-11.
In the 3,000 meters, Broadalbin-Perth's Jordyn DeNeuville (11:13.4) was third and Gloversville's Brittany Craven (11:13.7) was fourth.
DeNeuville was fifth in the 2,000 steeplechase with a time of 7:59.3, while Craven (8:01.9) was sixth.
Broadalbin-Perth's Christa Decker tied for second in the 100 meters with a time of 13.2 seconds, while B-P's Joanna Tavolaro was sixth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.4 seconds.
Tavolaro was second in the pole vault with a height of 8-0, while B-P's Lakshmi (8-0) and Lexi Eipp (7-6) were third and sixth, respectively.
Eipp was second in the triple jump with a leap of 31-2 3/4, while Gloversville's Sierra Fancher (30-11) was third and B-P's Tavolaro (30-1 1/4) was sixth.
In the 400 hurdles, Broadalbin-Perth's Coreena Monroe (1:09.6) was second, Johnstown's Molly Sear (1:16.5) was fourth and Gloversville's Madison Fancher (1:16.8) was sixth.
Monroe also placed fourth in the 2,000 steeple chase with a time of 7:59.3
In the 400 relay, Broadalbin-Perth was third, Gloversville was fourth and Johnstown was sixth.
B-P was third in the 1,600 relay, Gloversville was fourth and Johnstown was fifth.
In the 3,200 relay, Broadalbin-Perth was second, Gloversville was third and Johnstown was fifth.
