Catherine G. Little, 86, formerly of West Fulton Street, Johnstown, died Sunday evening at Wells Nursing Home.
She was born in Johnstown on January 25, 1928, a daughter of John W. and Sarah M. Lockhart Little and was a graduate of Johnstown High School. She resided in the Capital District area and later in Sarasota, Florida before returning to the area twenty five years ago.
Catherine was employed with Liberty Enterprises and The Leader-Herald. She loved animals, children, and those with special needs.
Catherine was a very creative and talented person who was self-reliant and independent. Years ago she was a professional photographer, and worked at Macy's in Colonie. Although unable to have children, Catherine enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
She was married to Harold Lyttle. Sadly, he died February 13, 2000. In addition to her husband, Catherine was predeceased by a sister, May E.Yost, who died October 26, 2012.
Survivors include a brother, John W. Little Jr. (Patricia) of Pattersonville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Ames Cemetery, with the Rev. Joshua Fetterhoff officiating. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106, Johnstown.
