Patricia "Pat" A. DeClercq, age 78, of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 28, 1936, in Newark, New York, a daughter of the late Frank Thom and Theda Allen Thom.
Pat was a graduate of Newark High School and was a loving wife and mother. She was of the Catholic faith, a communicant of Holy Trinity Church and a member of the Johnstown Women of the Moose.
She is survived by her husband, Donald DeClercq, whom she married on August 24, 1968; one son, Chris (Marcia) DeClercq of Farmington, New York; one daughter, Colleen (Tim) Trimberger of Sanford, North Carolina; two sisters, Evy Pickard of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Betty DeMay of Newark, New York; five grandchildren, Samantha, Julia, Megan, Emily and Hunter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patricia was predeceased by her two brothers, Fritz Lyke and Carl Lyke; and one sister, Georgia Atkins.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at Holy Trinity Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown.
Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the Mass from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the church.
Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Saturday, May 17, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m at the Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller Street, Newark, New York.
Inurnment will be in St. Anne's Cemetery, Palmyra, New York.
