Steven G. Pelosi, age 68, of Johnstown passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born on October 23, 1945, in Gloversville, a son of the late Michael and Jeanette Hilton Pelosi.
He was a graduate of Fonda High School, earned an associate degree at FMCC and also attended Oneonta College.
Mr. Pelosi was a former member of the Johnstown Lions Club and Johnstown Loyal Order of Moose.
Steve was a police officer for twenty years with the Johnstown Police Department. He retired in 1988, and then he worked 18 years as a salesman at John C. Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Mac Vean Pelosi, whom he married on August 10, 1968; two sons, Steven G. Pelosi Jr. of Amsterdam and Craig R. (Tessa) Pelosi of Johnstown; three brothers, Doug (Dianne) Pelosi of Johnstown, James Pelosi of Gloversville and Greg Pelosi of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one sister, Jeanette Maxian of Gloversville; two grandchildren, Maggie Pelosi and Kiersten Pelosi; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, May 16, at 7:00 P.M. at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday prior to the service from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
The family would like to give a special thank-you to the following people who helped during the course of his illness: Jen Price, Dave Spencer, Heidi McCoy, Lori Lopez, Margaret Johns Kralovic, Richard "Lucky" Luck, and nurse Barbara Clark.
