Mr. John T. MacFarlane, 75, of Gloversville passed away May 8, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Mr. MacFarlane was born in Canada on September 15, 1938. He retired 20 years ago from the former Niagara Mohawk Corp., where he was a gas mechanic. Earlier in life, John enjoyed hunting, bowling and golf. He also enjoyed cruises and had been active in the former St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church and the Holy Name Society.
John has two daughters; Tammy Luberto of Gloversville and Tracy MacFarlane of Naples, Florida. He also has three grandchildren, Thomas John McGillis of Puerto Rico, Mindy Kinney and Heidi-Jo Buanno, both of Gloversville; as well as three great-granddaughters, a niece and a nephew. John was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Florence Lyons, and the mother of his children, Barbara Schelhaus MacFarlane.
There will be no calling hours. Private services will take place at the convenience of his family. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
