James W. Dingman, age 67, of Gloversville, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 4, 1947, in Johnstown, a son of the late Stewart W. Dingman and Ida May VanEvera Dingman.
Mr. Dingman honorably served his country in the Army, Navy and the Marines.

Survivors include one son, James W. Dingman Jr. and his companion Laura Palmenter; one daughter, April Persse and her companion Thomas Anadio; two brothers, Jeff (Cynthia) Dingman and Rich (Lisa) Dingman; two sisters, Pamela Dingman and Anna Dingman; seven grandchildren, Max Dingman, Sage Dingman, Cynthia Dingman, James Byers, Alexis Persse, Steven Dingman and Stewart Dingman; one great-grandson, Nathan Jonah Thomas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the services from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow at the Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
