Mr. John J. "Jack" Kinzie, age 77, of Gloversville, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Albany Medical Center.
He was born October 3, 1936, in Rockaway Beach, Long Island, the son of the late Charles and Helen Mulligan Kinzie. He was educated in Long Island schools and was a graduate of Niagara University. He retired in 1989 after 27 years as vice president of Teamsters Local 917. He was past president of the Smithtown, Long Island, School Board and former president of the Hill of the Oaks Civic Association in Smithtown.
Jack came to Gloversville in 2002 and became chairman of the Fulton County Tax Payer's Association, which began in 2003. He has hosted a local area cable TV talk show since 2006.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews; his beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Peanut; several cats and his dear friends, the McGrail family.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St, Gloversville.
Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.
