Ramon B. Streeter

Ramon B. Streeter, 81, of Gloversville, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home. He was born on May 21, 1932, to the late George and Iris O'Brien Streeter. Ramon was a graduate of Gloversville High School class of 1950. He joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and was discharged in 1956.

He married Norma Taylor Streeter on February 16, 1958, and they celebrated 56 years of marriage. Ramon and Norma moved to Rhode Island so he could attend Bryant College. They returned home to Gloversville, and Ramon worked for the Grandoe Corporation. He enjoyed working for Grandoe and retired after many years of service.

Ramon often mentioned how fortunate they were to have very fine neighbors that really cared. He was extremely proud of his son, Mark, who was a West Point graduate.

Ramon is survived by his wife, Norma; his son, Mark; and his lovely daughter-in-law, Rosario of Ashburn Heights, VA; his grandchildren, Matthew, Brittany and Elena; his sister, Mary Buanno (Pat) and his brother, George Streeter, of Gloversville. Ramon had several nieces and nephews who were helpful; also his special grand niece Maria Danise. Ramon was predeceased by his sister, Janet Lee Streeter Williams.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main Street, Gloversville, NY, followed by a noon funeral service with Dr. Rev. R.W. Williams. Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
