Edward J. Galusha, 80, of Broadalbin, NY, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown, NY. Edward was born on August 4, 1933, in Chestertown, NY, to the late Leroy and Helen Ross Galusha.

Edward proudly served his Country with the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. He was married on August 1, 1992, to Joyce Evarts Galusha. He retired from Phillips Enterprise, Clifton Park, NY, as a carpenter after 15 years of service.

Edward enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a gun maker and a master craftsman. He operated a Dude Ranch for many years and was able to do amazing things with horses. He was the Director of the History Center at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Gloversville, NY. His greatest accomplishment was passing his love and legacy to his family. He was the family rock and wisdom and will always be cherished as his unconditional love, teachings and laughter will always be with us.

Edward is survived by his wife Joyce of Broadalbin; his children Kathy (Kenneth) Amell of Leander, TX, Christine (Dan) Hensley of Charlotte, NC, Mark Galusha of Lake Luzerne, NY, Dawn (Mark) Grieme of Broadalbin, Jeffrey Millington of Rochester, MN, and one stepson, Jerry Beardon of Bolton Landing, NY; his grandchildren ,Candace Hammill, Holly Galusha, Emily Morgan, James & Joseph Amell and Theresa Cahill of Glens Falls; his great-granddaughter Megan Hammill and Kelsey Cahill; also several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 24, 2014, from 1:00-2:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 417 Steele Ave. Ext., Gloversville. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern NY, Pine West Plaza, Bldg., 4, Suite 405, Washington Ave., Ext., Albany, NY 12205, or a charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are being handled by the Amico Funeral Home, Gloversville, NY.
