Beverly W. McGivern

Beverly W. McGivern, age 85 of Johnstown passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Wells Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 12, 1928 in Rockwood, a daughter of the late William R. Wormuth and Wilma Franko Wormuth.

Beverly was a graduate of Johnstown High School and worked at GTE in Johnstown for over 37 years until her retirement. Mrs. McGivern was of the Catholic faith, a communicant of the Holy Trinity Church, a member of Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of the Red Hats Club, the Johnstown Moose and the Johnstown Eagles.

She is survived by her three sons John B. McGivern, Jr. of Johnstown, Terrence J. McGivern of Bridgeport, NY and Thomas P. (Catherine) McGivern of Johnstown, one daughter Kathleen (Bryan) Smith of Johnstown; seven grandchildren Melanie Perry, Tiffani Gallippi, Todd Smith, Beth Dievendorf, Samantha Smith, Michael McGivern and Matthew McGivern; eight great grandchildren Zoe, Sadie and Lily Perry, Ava and Sofia Gallippi, Aleksandra Smith, Madeline and Beatrice Dievendorf, one brother William C. Wormuth of Johnstown; two sisters Patricia (Lee) Lanois and Julianne Wormuth, both of Johnstown, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beverly was predeceased by her husband John B. McGivern, Sr. who she married on May 31, 1947 and he passed on October 28, 1995 and one sister Veronica Nicholas who passed on April 3, 2014.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 14 at Holy Trinity Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, April 13 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown.

Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown.
