JOHNSTOWN - The Fulton County Historian's Office will undergo a major update on its county web page in the next few months.
Historian Samantha Hall-Saladino discussed the upcoming endeavor during her recent monthly report to the Board of Supervisors' Economic Development and Environment Committee at the County Office Building.
Hall-Saladino said she has communicated with county Information Services Director Perry Lovell about updating the county historian's web page. The page is located on the Fulton County government website: www.fultoncountyny.gov.
Hall-Saladino said she begun drafting text about Fulton County history for a "major update" to occur to the website in late spring or early summer.
Elsewhere in her report to the committee, Hall-Saladino said she sent local historians' annual reports to state Historian Robert Weible.
She said she is seeking interested candidates to fill the vacant historian's position in the town of Johnstown. She told county supervisors to let her know if anyone is interested.
Hall-Saladino reported she submitted her first article to The Leader-Herald. She said the plan is to continue with two articles monthly.
She also assisted a local resident with historical research on executions that occurred in Fulton County for a film script he is writing. Hall-Saladino said the script may end up being for a proposed "horror" film.
From the standpoint of equipping her office, Hall-Saladino said she ordered a new telephone, answering machine and brochure rack.
Hall-Saladino reported she attended the "State of the County" address Jan. 31. She also said she is continuing with the organization and cataloging of resources in her office in the basement of the County Office Building.
