Jeanne Botch

Jeanne Botch (Vietri) passed away peacefully at Mountain Valley Hospice on March 5, 2014, one day short of her 76th birthday. Jeanne was the daughter of Joseph and Madeline Clemente Vietri and a lifetime resident of Gloversville.

Jeanne graduated from Gloversville High School and was married to Albert Botch; they were married in 1958 and shared 55 loving years together. She is survived by her three children, Toni Lynne Calabrese of Gloversville, James (Helen) Botch of Mayfield and David (Susan) Botch of Queensbury; as well as her seven grandchildren, Christian Calabrese, Dana Calabrese, Jaclyn Calabrese, Annie Botch, Emma Botch, David Botch and Jillian Botch. Jeanne was a sibling of seven and is survived by all of her brothers and sisters, including: Pasquale Vietri of Gloversville, John Vietri of Johnstown, Frank Vietri of Mayfield, Josephine DelCostello of Gloversville, Martha Mongato of Caroga Lake and Marie Steding of Johnstown; as well as her sisters by choice: Anna Masala of Gloversville and Patricia Franco of Gloversville.

Jeanne was a member of the Women's Society, as well as a lifelong member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, where she volunteered her time with Friday's Table and fried pizza dinners.

Jeanne will be remembered for her strong faith, her strong will, and her delicious rice balls; she will be missed by all.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St., Gloversville. The Rev. Matthew Wetsel will be the celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
