BROADALBIN - Voters in the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District will elect one Board of Education member to begin serving a five-year term on July 1, according to a news release from the district.
The vacancy is caused by the expiration of the term for current Board of Education President Edward Szumowski on June 30, 2013.
According to the release, petitions for nominating a member to the Board of Education are available in the district office, 20 Pine St., between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The names of at least 25 qualified voters are necessary to nominate a candidate for the Board of Education. Petitions must be returned to the District Clerk on or before 5 p.m. on April 21.
The election will be held May 20.
