BROADALBIN - A Galway man was arrested on drinking and driving charges following a hit-and-run accident Friday that resulted in damage to six vehicles.
Fulton County sheriff's deputies said Rodney T. Jackson, 54, of 1118 Route 29, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, leaving the scene of an accident and possessing a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
Deputies said he was parked in the American Legion lot in the village at 6:28 p.m. Deputies said Jackson attempted to back out, but his pickup truck struck a parked pickup registered to Jeannette C. Wickham of Broadalbin and a parked car registered to Patricia A. Geer of 4615 Route 10, Fort Plain. Deputies said Jackson then attempted to back out in a different direction, with his truck striking a concrete wall.
Deputies said Jackson's truck then struck Geer's vehicle again, which caused a parked car registered to Pamela A. Berry of 9 Woodland Drive, Gloversville, to strike Albrecht's car and a parked car registered to Thomas R. Welke of 43 N. Main St., Broadalbin.
Jackson will appear later in Village Court.
