BROADALBIN - The Broadalbin Senior Citizens met Wednesday for the Office for the Aging luncheon, meeting and annual Valentines party.
Chaplain Mary Peck read an article and led in the reciting of "The Lord's Prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance was also recited.
Toni Hallenbeck, president, presided over the meeting with 49 in attendance.
The roll call was done by June Zea, vice president.
The reports of Nancy Weiss, secretary, and Phil Guadagno, treasurer, were accepted.
A moment of silence was held in memory of a former member, Barbara Sniezyk, who recently died. She had not been active recently due to ill health; in the past she had been a very active and dedicated member.
Eleanor Merritt, birthday chairman, read a list of birthdays for the month. "Happy Birthday" was sung.
Marge Gundersen, audit committee chairwoman, noted the audit of all the books has been completed.
The nominations committee: Pat Ryfa noted that anyone who would like to be an officer should let her know.
Donna Chambers, program chairman, gave her report.
The raffle winner was Janet Austin.
Hallenbeck, trip chairman, discussed the Newport, R.I., trip from May 28 to 30 and the Branson, Mo., trip from Oct. 4 to 12. If interested, contact Hallenbeck.
The program for the day was the annual Valentine's party, organized by Chambers and assisted by Maggie Boltash.
The valentine cards were made and prizes were given out to those as follows: Shirley Michan, Sandy Blodgett, Hallenbeck, Doris Hersey, Linda Gray, Betty Huffmire, Carolyn and Carmen Guadagno, Marion Chase, Marilyn Quinn, Carol Bezio, Betty Guadagno, Carol Cramer, Eleanor Campbell, Jerry Collins, Janice Winney, Betty Cuckoo, Caroline Weil and Charlotte Santo.
The bakers of refreshments were Boltash, Peck, and Santo. Santo also served the punch.
Some extra Valentines brought by some members were handed out by Campbell.
Members voted on persons wearing most read with: Chase and Cuckoo winners and received a prize.
The next meeting will be Wednesday with Judy Emond, a representative from Price Chopper, who will present a program. If interested in the OFA meal, reservations must be made in advance and cancelations if can't attend. Bring can goods for local food pantry.
