Albert A. Intonte, 72, of Johnstown, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the Mountain Valley Hospice House, Gloversville.
Mr. Intonte was born October 24, 1941, the son of Anthony V. Intonte and Theresa (Cali) Intonte in Amsterdam.
He was a graduate of Johnstown High School, Class of 1959. Albert proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1959 through 1963. He was a longtime employee of the Greater Johnstown School District, retiring in 2001. As a lifelong resident of Johnstown, Mr. Intonte was a member of various social clubs, including the Johnstown Moose and Johnstown Eagles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julie (Elmendorf) Intonte, whom he married on July 31, 1964; his three children, Kim (Michael) Hlozansky, Kristine Intonte and Anthony M. (Camille) Intonte, all of Johnstown; his four grandchildren, Michela (Joseph) Francisco, Brynn Hlozansky, Tanner Hlozansky and Chantal Intonte, and his great-granddaughter, Riley Francisco, all of Johnstown. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Hamm of Amsterdam; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and his infant brother, Richard.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, February 21, at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Friday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
