JOHNSTOWN - HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, announces a series of five weekly programs titled "The Savvy Caregiver" will begin Feb. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the wellness center at 213 Harrison St. Ext.

"This is an interactive, educational series for family members and friends who care for someone with Alzheimer's disease or dementia," Brigitta Giulianelli M.P.H., program manager for the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, said in a news release. "It is designed to help caregivers better understand the changes their loved one is experiencing, and how to provide the best individualized care along the continued decline associated with these conditions."

The program is free and open to the general public. The five weekly sessions will continue on Tuesdays and conclude on March 25. To attend, call HealthLink Littauer at 736-1120.
