How will more garbage get through city?

February 17, 2014
The Leader Herald

We are all glad to hear Fulton County will be taking in Montgomery County garbage, but missing in the discussion is the answer as to how these trucks carrying garbage will get through congested Johnstown.

I wrote the county planner suggesting the creation of a long needed arterial down Chestnut Street, over the creek, then up to Route 29 at the high school. I got no response. But I did learn the county is paying $500,000 for a feasibility study for a bypass highway up from Fultonville.

Since Fulton County will make a million dollars a year taking in this trash, you would expect they would invest in a better transportation system.
