Sheriff should keep his attention on job

February 13, 2014
The Leader Herald

All this ranting about the New York?Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement?Act and Fulton?County?Sheriff Thomas Lorey. He was at Tea Party rallies as well? I think this public employee should get back to work.

I don't think attending rallies as a spokesman or protesting is in his job description and when you're a chief, it's 24/7. He should be addressing the issue of responding to emergencies without people waiting 20 to 30 minutes for help to arrive.

Public employees have an ethical duty not to be involved in political issues to maintain impartiality.

Bring on the naysayers.
