GLOVERSVILLE - A pair of local men were recently arrested after an investigation revealed they worked together to steal an ATM debit card and made about $600 in fraudulent transactions, city police said.

Sean Alvarez, 21, of 207 N. Perry St., Johnstown, was arrested Jan. 30 and charged with second-degree forgery, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

Jordan Lehr, 18, of 345 S. Kingsboro Ave. Ext., was arrested Feb. 3 and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

Authorities said on Jan. 21 members of the department responded to the complaint of a stolen ATM debit card where the victim produced bank statements that documented a total of about $600 in fraudulent transactions at Walmart.

Police said Lehr had stolen the card and provided it to Alvarez who completed fraudulent transactions with it.

Capt. John Sira said this morning the card belonged to Lehr's father.

Once in possession of the card Alvarez forged the card owner's signature during a purchase at Walmart, police said.

Lehr was arraigned in City Court and released to appear at a later date.

Alvarez was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail.
