Mrs. Jane B. Bonfey, 75, of Gloversville, passed away Tuesday at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was born February 10, 1938, in Gloversville, daughter of the late Edward and Grace McCane Shaul. Educated in local schools, Jane was a devoted homemaker and caregiver to her entire family and extended family, all her life. She babysat for a number of families and friends throughout the years.
Devoted to her church, Jane was a longtime member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church in Gloversville and of the Bible Study group. She was also a member of the Mayfield Grange and senior citizens. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her children, Robert W. Bonfey Jr. and Dale Bonfey of Mayfield, Chad DeLong of Florida, Jennie Morgan of Mayfield and Elizabeth "Beth" LaMont of S. Carolina. She is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Perham of Mayfield; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Bonfey Sr.; and three brothers, George, Elmer and Elvin Harey.

A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014, at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, with the Reverend Christopher Hamm, pastor of North Main St. United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday for memorial visitation from 4 to 5 p.m. prior to the service. Urn burial will take place in the spring in Mayfield Cemetery.
