Many made career great

February 4, 2014
The Leader Herald

After 34 years as a family nurse practitioner and 11 years as a registered nurse, I retired Jan. 2. As most people do during their careers, I often pondered whether my work made any impact on the world.

As my retirement became public knowledge, I began receiving cards and notes of appreciation from many current and past patients. It's been truly heart-warming. I would like to thank all of you for your kind words.

There have been many professionals and support staff over these years who helped to teach and mold me into the practitioner that I became. I owe them a debt of gratitude for their patience and confidence in me.

A note of special thanks goes to Dr. David Clough and Dr. Ed Valentine, who gave me my local start as a nurse practitioner; to Dr. David Pesses and Dr. Jim Vacek, with whom I worked for more than 30 years; and to Donita Crankshaw and Debbie Noone, who brought me into the world of technology.

I wish you all good health and much joy.
