Kosowicz eighth at Saratoga Invy
EASTON - Sara Kosowicz placed eighth at the Saratoga Invitational for the Johnstown alpine ski team Monday at Willard Mountain.
Kosowicz finished with a time of 39.21 seconds for the Lady Bills.
Shenendehowa's Kirsten Kruk won with a time of 34.04 seconds, while Queensbury's Katie Zilka (36.18) was second.
Queensbury won the girls team title with a total of 14 points, while Albany Academy was second with 25 points. Saratoga Springs was third with 38 points, Shenendehowa (39 points) was fourth and Niskayuna (53) was fifth. Johnstown was seventh with 60.5 points.
Reilly Kotwasinki was 21st for Johnstown with a time of 45.43 seconds, while Whitney Western (49.19) was 31st. Other Johnstown finishers included Payton Sardella (36th, 51.75) and Chloe Salisbury (46th, 10:02.45). Serena Smith and Emily Havlicek also competed for the Lady Bills, but both were disqualified.
In the boys race, Lukas Levin paced Johnstown with a 17th-place finish with a time of 38.82 seconds.
Saratoga Springs' Kieran Mottau won the boys race with a time of 32.21 seconds, while Saratoga Springs' Ian Hauser (32.55 seconds) was second.
Saratoga Springs won the team title with a total of 15 points, while Queensbury was second with 20, Shenendehowa (32 points) was third, Niskayuna (48) was fourth and Albany Academy (52) was fifth.
Johnstown was eighth with a total of 67 points.
Noah Western (43.03 seconds) was 24th for the Sir Bills, Sam Bobbette (43.69) was 26th and Zack Simone (44.71) was 28th.
Jon Bearden and Nick Salatel also competed for Johnstown but both failed to finish.
