BROADALBIN - There were no injuries reported at a Broadalbin fire Saturday night.

A small structure fire contained to the garage of the home at 2258 County Highway 107 was put out in about five minutes, Assistant Chief Chris Funk of the Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Department said.

"Everything in the house is salvageable," Funk said. "There's some smoke damage and some people at the residence were checked out by medics for smoke inhalation but everything was under control quickly."

Residents of the home were not permitted to stay there for the rest of the evening.

The Perth Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene, and the Mayfield Fire Department was on standby.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
