Francis (Frank) J. Sprague passed peacefully in his sleep on January 30th, 2014. He was 96 years old. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Frank was born on August 9th, 1917, in Greenwich, Connecticut. He was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the Pacific. Frank loved the outdoors and enjoyed working the grounds at SUNY Purchase until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Rose Marie Coviello, on Feb 8th, 1948, and they were blessed with 51 years together, until her passing in January 2000.
In 2006, Frank moved from Port Chester, New York, to Gloversville to reside closer to family. Frank lived independently at Kingsboro Towers for several years, where he appreciated great friendships and laughter. He was known for his frequent walks around the city and his always friendly greetings. Frank spent a brief time at the Getman Memorial Home, and then moved into Nathan Littauer Nursing Home.
Frank's passion in life was to spend time with his family and play cards. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Tucci and husband Richard; daughter, Wendy Berlingo and husband Robert; three grandchildren, Katy Tucci, Robert Berlingo Jr., and Bonnie Zentner; and three great-grandchildren, Trey, Kendall, and Charlotte.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 1st, 2014, at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Arrangements were made by Amico Funeral Home.
