Irving "Junior" Blunt, age 80, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at his residence after a brief illness.
Junior was born on September 28, 1933, at Kings Hospital in Brooklyn, New York to father, Jerry Henery Blunt and mother, Martha Shugars.
He became a member of the Lexington family in 2010 and resided at Black Street. Mr. Blunt attended Quest II at 127 E. State Street, Gloversville. Junior loved the outdoors, enjoyed telling stories and working around the house. He had a passion for music from the '50s and black and white movies. Junior also enjoyed attending services at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Wednesday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
