January 23, 2014
The Leader Herald

NORTHAMPTON - A Clifton Park man was arrested Saturday for driving his snowmobile intoxicated after he fled the scene of an accident, authorities said.

David, B. Mazzone, 45, was charged with operating a snowmobile while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a snowmobile accident and imprudent speed on a snowmobile.

Police said troopers were called to the scene of a snowmobile crash in the area of Houseman Street where they found a 2003 Arctic Cat snowmobile collided with a tree in a field. The operator of the snowmobile had fled the scene, police said.

However, police said, troopers were able to follow footprints in the snow through the woods, which lead to Mazzone.

Authorities said a breath test showed Mazzone's blood-alcohol content was 0.18 percent.

He was issued tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town Court later this month.
