Teen charged with attempted burglary

HOPE- State police said a Schenectady man was arrested Sunday for attempting to break into a seasonal home in town.

James G. Gleason, 16, of Schenectady was charged with second-degree attempted burglary

Police said he was charged after an investigation into a break-in at a seasonal home on?Route 30.

According to troopers, footprints were found leading to the front door. The window was broken, but the door would not open. Police said damage to the door was found, implying someone tried to pry the door open.

According to troopers, Gleason said he was with two others when they attempted to break in, and they had been performing several burglaries throughout the Christmas break.

Gleason was arraigned in the Wells Town?Court. He was sent to the Hamilton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
