JOHNSTOWN - HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, announces a program on "Alzheimer's: The Long Goodbye" will be held on Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the wellness center, 213 Harrison St. Ext.

"Family members and friends who care for someone with Alzheimer's or dementia experience a different kind of loss," Brigitta Giulianelli, program manager for the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, said in a news release. "The grief process occurs in steps as your loved one suffers loss of abilities and awareness. This program provides an opportunity to learn about and discuss anticipatory grief."

This program is free and designed for family members and friends who care for someone with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. To attend, call HealthLink Littauer at 736-1120.
