JOHNSTOWN - A Gloversville woman and her husband are suing a town gun club for negligence and carelessness because of injuries she sustained in a fall last summer inside the club.

Priscilla and Lee Mitchell of Fifth Avenue, Gloversville, on Jan. 10 filed a civil lawsuit in state Supreme Court in Johnstown against Pine Tree Rifle Club on Johnson Avenue.

Represented by attorney Joseph Giannetti of Amsterdam, the couple seeks unspecified damages.

The lawsuit states Priscilla Mitchell was in the basement of the club as a member and participant in an instructional class Aug. 10 when she fell because of a "dangerous condition" caused by an uncovered sunken lighting receptacle.

The lawsuit indicated the woman suffered "serious and continuing and permanent personal injuries and substantial damages and was rendered permanently disabled."
