Mrs. Betty L. Wise, age 90, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and Naples, Fla., passed away on Thursday, January 16, at the Wesley Nursing Home in Saratoga Springs after a long illness. She was born on April 11, 1923, in Gloversville, N.Y., the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther Blumenberg Mamber. Mrs Wise was a 1941 graduate of Gloversville High School and a 1945 graduate of SUNY Geneseo. She was a certified special education teacher for the Gloversville Board of Education and taught at the Park Terrace School of Gloversville. Mrs. Wise was of the Jewish faith and a member of the Hadassah, the Lexington Foundation, and a member of the Mountain Valley Hospice of Gloversville.
Betty is survived by her husband of 67 years, Solomon Wise, whom she married on June 30, 1946; one son, William R. Wise (Amber) of Las Vegas; one daughter, Rochelle M. Gorgos (William) of Saratoga; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at the Knesseth Israel Synagogue, Gloversville, on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in the Knesseth Israel Cemetery, Gloversville.
